When you talk to someone about work at home opportunities, they immediately think of envelope stuffing. Though it is probably the oldest thing you can do at home to make money is work at home stuffing envelopes but, in this day an age, there are many more at home opportunities to make money. Envelope stuffing you could do without a computer but had limited jobs opportunity. But, if you really want to work at home stuffing envelopes, it can be a rewarding experience if you do you homework and research the company before hand and ask questions. What will they provide you? How much upfront money do you need to provide and what is the payoff for you? These are only a few of the questions to be asked.

You need to ask yourself, do I want to work for someone else or be my own boss. When I say work for someone else, I’m not saying you punch a time clock at home but by being an independent contractor to the place you want to work. This way you just complete a job you’re assigned to do and as an independent contractor, you set your own work hours. You do the work when it is convenient for you to do so. Maybe you have children. The company you work for just wants results. One of the jobs you could do is medical transcription. Entering information into a computer database that could cover a wide range of information. Another job could be working for an information type collection agency. You would enter all sorts of facts into specific databases.

Now to be your own boss, you have to have a product or service someone is willing to pay for. If your capable of making things with your hands, then maybe selling your product on e-bay or craigslist would be good for you. If your really good with your computer, which I am not, maybe a marketing type business. You would probably have to take a few classes and join a few web based marketing forums. Visiting chat rooms on the subject and gathering the pros and cons upon entering such a venture. There is plenty of free work at home on computer websites to gather ideas and information.

During these tough economic times, you have to be very careful of the scams that are out there. These people who conduct these scams only want your money. They have no intention of helping you. If they ask for any upfront fees or any other type of information, DO NOT work with them! You have to remember it takes time and hard work to accomplish anything in life, unless you’re born into it. Just have faith in your abilities and you’ll do just fine.
